An associate and second photographer are important for the flow of your big day and seem very similar!! While both use expertise and skill to capture professional, high-quality images; they do have two different jobs on your wedding day.. let’s get into them!
An associate is an independent business owner, they usually are standing in place for me and performing the role of the lead photographer for your day! Their job is to shoot weddings or sessions on behalf of me and my brand, BUT all the images are edited by me to give the look and feel of my work still! Now, you may be wondering.. why would someone else need to capture my day? Couples have considering hiring an associate when I, personally, and already booked for their wedding day- but they love my editing style and still want engagement photos and things by me, as well! I still handle all client communication and all the good stuff, but since I am splitting the workload with another talented photographer.. you get the benefit of a discounted overall price- so many couples on a budget have loved this option, as well!
At first this may seem scary to have someone else stepping in for me, but just know that I would FULLY trust my associate to capture my wedding day and capture breath-taking photos (maybe my day will come soon 🤪) – rest assured… my associate was hand-picked by me, and has been trained to treat all clients with the upmost respect, just as I would- making sure to go the extra mile.. no matter what.
Now, the job of a second photographer is to assist the lead photographer, take additional photos, shoot from different angles, capture moments from a unique perspective, and provide more coverage throughout your wedding day! Some packages may include a second photographer, where they’ll just be alongside me for all the fun of your day, or even help out to multi-task and knock some of our photos out quicker to get the dance party going! Second photographers are also great for things like a first look and ceremony, that way one of us is focused on getting the grooms reaction, the other can get the bride in all of her glory. This creates a more detailed and diverse wedding gallery for you overall, and often helps a busy day in staying organized and on schedule.
Plus, family photos can often be hectic when trying to gather and organized a large group of people- so having another professional on hand to help with the small details and calling out names will help make things flow smooth and the overall outcome of the photos!
In full, an associate photographer is a consistent independent contractor working for my business, while a second photographer is hired just for the day! I have worked hours on end at hand picking my second and associate photographers to ensure that they not only capture the most beautiful parts of your day, but are just as dedicated to you as I am!
I am a passionate lover of Christ and people. I am very dedicated to detail & capturing all the precious in between moments of your special day! I’m not here just a photograph of your wedding, but I’m here to be your best friend along the way! If you need it to make your wedding day perfect, then I’ll help you get it!!
